White Pizza

When it comes to pizza, to be grossly honest, Domino’s does it for me. Before you tell me I haven’t experienced great pizza, think again, I lived in Italy for a month; I probably experienced the greatest pizza there is. Still, when I imagine a delicious pizza my mind turns to good old, low-budge Domino’s or Rusty’s. Another thing about pizza – when it comes to homemade, let’s be honest, it is hardly ever that good! I said it. I mean the idea in theory is good : “aw it will be so cute and fun to homemake pizzas tonight…” The result is usally less than stellar. Truth hurts. But THIS pizza – THIS pizza is good. I am absolutely smitten by it and will most def make it over and over again. The crust and flavoring reminded me of those delicious Italian pizzas I experienced in the past, sigh, be ready for some amazing pizza!
You Will Need:

For the Crust:

1 1/4 cups warm water

2 packages dry yeast

1 tablespoon honey

3 tablespoons good olive oil

4 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons kosher salt

White Sauce:

1 stick of butter

4-5 garlic cloves

1/4 cups white wine

1/4 cups heavy cream

juice of half of a lemon

a few grinds of pepper

pinch of red chili flakes



thinly sliced red onion

thinly sliced zucchini

Mozzarella Cheese

Feta Cheese


In a mixing bowl add 2 packets of dry active yeast.Image

Add 1 1/4 cups warm water.Image

Add 3 tablespoons of olive oil.Image

Add 1 tablespoon of honey.Image

Add dough hook and mix on low. Image

Turn off mixer and add 3 cups of flour.DSC_0093

Add 2 teaspoons of kosher salt, start mixing again. DSC_0094

When the dough has formed add an additional 1/2 cup of flour. DSC_0095

On a floured surface add your dough. DSC_0096

Knead dough about 12 times until it is a soft nice ball. DSC_0097

Fill the bottom of a bowl with good olive oil. DSC_0098

Add the dough and roll it around a few times until the dough is covered. DSC_0099

Cover the bowl with a dish towel and let rise for about 30 minutes. DSC_0100

After 30 minutes, cut dough into 6 pieces. DSC_0101

Roll the dough into little balls and place on a cookie sheet. DSC_0102

Cover the dough with a damp towel and let sit for 10 minutes. Meanwhile start the white sauce! DSC_0103

In a large pan melt 1 stick of butter. DSC_0104

Add 1/4 cup of white wine.DSC_0105

Add 4-5 garlic cloves depending on how garlic-y you like it! I love mine SUPER garlic deluxe. DSC_0106

Add 1/4 cup of heavy cream. DSC_0107

Add a few grinds of pepper. DSC_0108

Add a pinch of red pepper flakes. DSC_0109

Squeeze half the juice of a lemon. Keep stirring the sauce constantly and it will get thicker.DSC_0110

Roll out your dough. Preheat oven to 500˚. If you had refrigerated your dough let it sit out for about 30 minutes to let it get to room temperature. DSC_0111

Using a brush cover your dough in the sauce.DSC_0112

Add mozzarella cheese. DSC_0113

Sprinkle some feta. DSC_0114

Cover your cookie sheet with cornmeal, this will help keep the pizza from sticking to the bottom of the pan. DSC_0116

Top with your toppings and bake for 15 minutes, yum!! KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR PIZZA! Every oven is different the pizza cooks quick! Once you take out your pizza drizzle the top with more white sauce! DSC_0122
